Pre-registration makes it easier to collect wrestler information before your event by allowing participants to register online. As an event administrator, you will need to set up your pre-registration before wrestlers can register for your event. Watch the video below for a walkthrough of the setup process, or follow the step-by-step instructions in this article.
Log in to pre-registration as an administrator
- Go to Trackwrestling.
- Select Manage > Tournaments.
- Search for your event.
- Select Pre-Register to the right of the event.
- Select Admin Login in the upper-right corner.
- Enter your username and password to log in.
If you previously configured pre-registration for another tournament, you can select Importing to import those settings. Otherwise, configure the event using the sections below.
Set the pre-registration limit
Use the pre-registration limit to control how many wrestlers can register for the event.
- Select Pre-Reg Limits.
- Enter the number of wrestlers who can pre-register.
- Click Save.
Set the pre-registration deadline
The deadline controls the date and time when pre-registration closes.
- Select Deadlines.
- Set the pre-registration deadline date and time.
- Click Save.
Create divisions
Divisions determine how wrestlers are grouped for registration. Each division also needs a date of birth range so Trackwrestling can determine which divisions a wrestler is eligible to enter.
- Select Divisions/Weights.
- Click Add Group.
- Enter the group's name and style.
- Set the pre-registration price and match length.
- Click Add.
- Find the division you created and click ???-??? under DOB.
- Follow the prompts to set the date of birth range for the group.
A date of birth range must be configured for every group. These ranges determine which divisions a wrestler is eligible for, and the ranges for different divisions can overlap.
Add weight classes
Each division or group must have at least one weight class.
- Select the name of the division or group.
- Click Add Weight Class.
- Enter a name for the weight class.
- Enter its maximum weight.
- Click Add.
If you do not want to use weight classes for a division, add a weight class named N/A so the division still has the required weight class entry.
Add registration questions and data fields
Use data fields to collect additional information from wrestlers during pre-registration, such as weight, school, or other event-specific information.
- Select Data Fields.
- Click Add Field.
- Enter a name for the field.
- Select the appropriate field type:
- Number: For numerical information, such as a weight of
160. - Integer: For whole-number information, such as a weight of
160. - Short Text: For short responses, such as
Jones HS. - Long Text: For longer written responses.
- Number: For numerical information, such as a weight of
- Choose whether to display a pick list of available responses.
- If applicable, enter the pick-list options or restrict the allowed data range.
- Enter any instructions wrestlers need to answer the question.
- Click Add Field.
Complete the basic pre-registration information
Use Basic Info to finish configuring the information wrestlers will see when registering.
- Select Basic Info.
- Review each question and enter the appropriate information for your event.
- Click Save.
Activate pre-registration
Once you've completed the setup steps above, you're ready to activate pre-registration and make it available to wrestlers.
- Go to the Basic Info page.
- Click the blue Click here to activate your registration link.
- If all required settings are configured correctly, your registration will be activated.
- If registration cannot be activated, a pop-up will explain what needs to be corrected.
- Fix the issue identified in the message, then return to the Basic Info page and try to activate your registration again.
Test and share your registration link
After configuring pre-registration, use the registration link displayed at the top of the page.
Test the link before distributing it to wrestlers. Once you have confirmed that the registration experience is configured correctly, copy the link and share it wherever participants need to access event registration.
