Splitting rounds lets you move specific matches from an existing round into separate rounds, giving you more control over when those matches are scheduled. For example, you can create a separate 1st Place round and move the appropriate championship matches into it. To split a round correctly, each Match ID must be added to the new round and removed from its original round. Follow the steps below to split and reorder your rounds, or watch the video for a visual walkthrough.

Create a New Round

1. Click Setup > Rounds.
2. Click Add Round.
3. Enter a name that identifies the new round, such as 1st Place.
4. Add the round.
5. Click the name of the round you added.
6. Find the appropriate bracket type and enter the Match ID or Match IDs you want to move into the new round, such as 18,19.
7. Click Save Round Detail.

Note

After adding the Match IDs to the new round, you may see red text on the Rounds page. This means the Match IDs are temporarily assigned to both the new round and their original round. This is expected at this point in the process. Continue with the steps below to remove the Match IDs from the original round. The red warning will disappear once each Match ID appears only once for that bracket type.

Remove the Matches From the Original Round

1. Click the name of the round that originally contained the match.
2. Find the corresponding bracket type.
3. Remove the Match ID or Match IDs you added to the new round.
4. Click Save Round Detail.
5. Repeat the process for each additional round you want to split.

Edit an Existing Round

You can edit an existing round if you need to change its name or update the Match IDs assigned to it.

1. Click Setup > Rounds.
2. Click the name of the existing round you want to modify.
3. Change the round name or adjust the Match ID(s) assigned to the appropriate bracket type.
4. Click Save Round Detail.

Change the Round Order

Once your rounds are configured, arrange them in the order you want them to run during the tournament.

1. On the Rounds page, use the up and down arrows beside each round to move it into the desired position.
2. Click Save Round Order to apply the new sequence.
