Testing your tournament before the event gives you a chance to practice key workflows and see how your tournament will progress with your current setup. After copying your event to the testing site, you can use testing operations to create sample participants, simulate weigh-ins and bout results, and reset information so you can test different parts of your event before tournament day.

The testing options available depend on your tournament format. Use the sections below to find the operations available for your event and learn how each one works

After copying your event to the testing site, enable the testing operations for the event.

  1. Log in to your event on the testing site.
  2. Click Left Menu.
  3. Click Operations.
  4. If Operations does not appear in the Left Menu, click Setup.
  5. On the Settings page, find the red setting Activate this when you are on the testing site practicing.
  6. Change the setting to Yes.
  7. Return to Operations.

Open Tournament Testing

Open tournaments include the following testing operations:

  • Add Random Wrestlers
  • Perform a Random Weigh-In
  • Enter Bouts
  • Reset

Add Random Wrestlers

Add Random Wrestlers creates test participants so you can practice running your event. Your groups or divisions must already be added before you can use this function.

  1. Open Operations on the testing site.
  2. Select Add Random Wrestlers from the dropdown menu.
  3. Enter the information in the available fields.
  4. Select the groups where you want random wrestlers added.
  5. Choose whether to enter a total number of wrestlers or specify a number for each group.
  6. Choose whether the system should assign weights.
  7. Click Add Random Wrestlers.
  8. When the message indicates that the system is working, click OK.
  9. Wait for the confirmation that the process completed without errors.

You can enter a total number of wrestlers to be distributed across the selected groups or enter a specific number for each group.

If you enter a total number, the system randomly assigns weights to the wrestlers. This may result in weights that do not make sense for a particular group.

If you want the system to add wrestlers to existing teams, those teams must already be added to the event on the testing site.

When adding wrestlers by age group, make sure the weight range you enter is appropriate for that group.

Perform a Random Weigh-In

Perform a Random Weigh-In assigns random weights to participants so you can test tournament workflows that depend on actual weights.

You must have at least one weight class configured with a maximum weight before using this option.

When entering percentages, enter the percentage as a decimal. For example, enter .10 for 10%.

If you are using block bracketing, you can use N/A and set a maximum weight.

Enter Bouts

Enter Bouts generates random bout results so you can see how your tournament progresses using its current settings.

Before using this option, make sure you have:

  • Built the brackets.
  • Assigned the brackets to a mat or loaded the mats.
  • Assigned the number scheme.

You can determine which bouts receive results using either Match IDs or bout numbers.

Option 1: Match IDs

Enter the maximum Match ID the system should process.

For example, if you enter 3 as the maximum Match ID, the system enters results for the first three matches on all brackets. Match IDs can be found on the sample bracket.

Option 2: Bout Numbers

Use bout numbers when you want to specify which numbered bouts receive results. You can enter:

  • A single bout number
  • Specific bout numbers, such as 1,5,10
  • A range, such as 1-4
