Team scoring settings determine which wrestlers contribute points to a team's overall total in an open tournament. Because open tournaments allow multiple wrestlers from the same team to compete in the same weight class, Trackwrestling provides two options for managing team scores:

  • Automatic Scoring: Automatically count the top-performing wrestlers' points toward the team score.
  • Manual Selection: Hand-select specific wrestlers whose points will count toward the team total.

Follow the step-by-step instructions below to set up your preferred scoring method, or watch the video walkthroughs for a visual guide.

Method 1: Automatically score the best wrestlers

Use Score Best when you want Trackwrestling to determine which wrestlers' scores count toward each team's total.

  1. Click Setup > Teams.
  2. Click Score Best.
  3. Enter the number of wrestlers whose scores should count for each team.
  4. Enter the number of wrestlers whose scores should count for each weight class.
  5. Click Score Best.

Repeat this process whenever you want to recalculate team scores as matches are completed. Be sure to run Score Best again at the end of the event to ensure the final team scores are correct.

To calculate team scores using all wrestlers on all teams, enter 99 in both fields.

Method 2: Manually select scoring wrestlers

Use this method when you want to choose exactly which wrestlers contribute to a team's score.

  1. Click Setup > Teams.
  2. Select the team you want to manage.
  3. Select the checkbox next to each wrestler whose score should count toward the team total.
  4. Click Score Selected Wrestlers.

To designate a wrestler as non-scoring, click Add to Non-Scoring.
