To stream an event with TrackCast, you'll need a Windows computer and video equipment for each stream. You can use a webcam for a simpler setup or a camcorder with a video capture device if you need the ability to zoom during the event.
Computer requirements
Use a Windows-based PC with:
- Intel Core i7 processor
- 8 GB of RAM
- Solid-state hard drive
- USB 3.0 port
- Gigabit Ethernet port
Option 1: Use a webcam
A webcam provides a simpler TrackCast setup because it can replace the:
- Video camera
- Video capture device
- HDMI cable
Keep in mind that you will not be able to zoom in and out when using a webcam.

Depending on where you position the computer and webcam, you may also need a USB extension cable.
Option 2: Use a camcorder
Use a camcorder setup if you want the ability to zoom the camera during your event.
The existing TrackCast setup uses:
- Camcorder: Sony Handycam HDR-CX405 or a similar camcorder
- Video capture device: StarTech USB 3.0 HD Video Capture Device, 1080p
- Camera tripod: Basic tripod
- Zoom remote: Optional
- HDMI cable: Micro HDMI-to-HDMI cable
