When a video review is requested during your event, you can use the recording created by OBS Studio to find and review the action in question. You'll temporarily stop the OBS recording, locate the most recent recording file, and find the point being reviewed without interrupting your live stream.

Review the video

As soon as a video review is requested:

  1. Open OBS Studio.
  2. Click Stop Recording.

Important

Do not click Stop Streaming. Your live stream should continue during the review.

  1. In OBS, go to File > Show Recordings.
  2. Sort the recording files so the newest recording appears at the top.
  3. Open the recording you need to review. In most cases, this will be the most recent file.
  4. When the recording opens in your selected video player, use the scrub bar near the end of the video to find the point being reviewed.
  5. Note the timestamp where the review takes place in case you need to return to the same point in the recording.
  6. Once the review is complete, close the recording and return to OBS.
  7. Click Start Recording to begin a new recording file.

Tip

You can restart the recording immediately after stopping it in Step 2. This starts a new recording file while you review the previous recording.
