The custom rankings on Trackwrestling are based on how a wrestler does in events divided into levels. These levels are determined by the organization that sets up the rankings and are weighted to give some levels more influence on rankings than others. The organization selects the events that fall into each of these levels.
An example of what these levels and weightings may look like is below.
-The lowest-level events would earn a wrestler between 0 and 100 points.
-The middle-level events would earn a wrestler between 25 and 150 points.
- The top-level events would earn a wrestler between 50 and 200 points.
A wrestler who is in first place in a bracket will receive the maximum number of points for that level, and a wrestler who does not win a match in a bracket will receive the minimum points. Other wrestlers will earn points based on their placement or number of matches won, and the size of the bracket is a factor in determining the point total. (Ex. - 4th place in an 8-man bracket will earn the same number of points as 8th place in a 16-man bracket within the same level.) Just participating in the middle or top-level events would earn a wrestler points toward the ranking.
Each event within a level is used to find the average points for that level, and then the level averages are averaged to find the overall ranking.
The number of levels, events with the level,s and point ranges will vary depending on what the organization sets up.
