If a wrestler can no longer compete after brackets have been built, you have two options. If the tournament is already underway or bout results have been entered, we recommend replacing the wrestler with a bye or forfeit to preserve the existing bracket. Removing a wrestler completely may affect brackets that already contain results, so proceed with caution. Choose the method that best fits your tournament. To see the steps in action, check out the video below.
*Please note that menus may have changed slightly since this video was recorded. FloPRO replaced TW GOLD+ in 2021.

Method 1: Replace the Wrestler with a Bye or Forfeit

Best used if competition has already started or bout results have already been entered.

  1. Open the appropriate weight class.
  2. Select the wrestler who is dropping out.
  3. Change the wrestler's:
    • First Name to BYE or FORFEIT
    • Last Name to BYE or FORFEIT
  4. Clear the team name so it no longer appears.
  5. Click Save.

This method preserves the existing bracket while allowing the remaining matches to continue as scheduled.

Method 2: Delete the Wrestler and Adjust the Bracket

Best used if you need to customize or redraw the bracket after removing a wrestler.

Important

Proceed with caution if the bracket already contains completed match results. Deleting a wrestler and redrawing or adjusting the bracket may affect existing bracket results.

Before deleting the wrestler, print the affected bracket(s), so you have a record of the original bracket and any completed match results. Having a printed copy can be helpful if you need to reference the original bracket after making changes.

  1. Click the wrestler's name.
  2. Type delete to confirm.
  3. Configure the removal options:
    • Select whether to change the bracket type.
    • Choose whether to replace the wrestler with a BYE or FORFEIT.
    • Choose whether to redraw the bracket or shift the seeds.
  4. Click Finish.

If the bracket was redrawn:

  1. Go to Operating > Number Schemes.
  2. Select the affected number scheme(s).
  3. Click Apply Selected Schemes.
  4. Follow the prompts to complete the update.
