When the number of wrestlers exceeds the size of a standard bracket, Trackwrestling automatically creates preliminary bouts, sometimes called prelims, pigtails, or rattails. To make sure these bouts populate in your tournament schedule and can be wrestled in the correct order, you need to add the preliminary rounds to the Rounds page. Follow the steps below to set up both preliminary rounds and place them in the correct order, or watch the video for a visual walkthrough.

Add Prelim Round 1

  1. Click Rounds from the Left or Setup menu.
  2. Click Add Round.
  3. Enter Prelim Round 1 as the round name.
  4. Click Add.
  5. In the Regulation Match IDs field, open the dropdown and select Prelim IDs.
  6. In the next field, enter 1-4 for the preliminary Match IDs.
  7. Click Save Round Detail.

If your tournament has more than four preliminary matches, adjust the Match ID range accordingly.
